Trimaran Capital Partners has an experienced team, led by Jay Bloom and Dean Kehler, who have worked together since the 1980's. The team has broad industry expertise, experience across all aspects of the corporate capital markets, and a history of equity and credit investing across many industries, sectors and economic cycles.
Managing Partners
Jay R. Bloom, Managing Partner
Mr. Bloom is a Managing Partner and co-founder of Trimaran Capital Partners. In addition, Mr. Bloom is co-portfolio manager of Trian Credit Partners and a member of the Investment Committees of Trimaran Fund Management, Trimaran Advisors and Trian Credit Partners. Prior to Trimaran Capital Partners, Mr. Bloom was a vice chairman of CIBC World Markets Corp. and co-head of the CIBC Argosy Merchant Banking Funds. Prior to joining CIBC World Markets Corp. in 1995, Mr. Bloom was a founder and Managing Director of The Argosy Group L.P. Before Argosy, Mr. Bloom was a Managing Director at Drexel Burnham Lambert Incorporated, and prior to that, he worked at Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb Incorporated. In addition, Mr. Bloom practiced law with Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison. Mr. Bloom currently serves on the Board of Directors of Brite Media, Educational Services of America, Inc., El Pollo Loco, Inc., Norcraft Companies, L.P., and Standard Steel, LLC. Mr. Bloom currently serves as a member of the Cornell University Council, the Cornell University Undergraduate Business Program Advisory Council and the Cornell University Johnson Graduate School of Management Advisory Council.
Mr. Bloom received his B.S. and M.B.A. from Cornell University, graduating summa cum laude, and his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where he was a member of the Board of Editors of the Columbia Law Review.
Dean C. Kehler, Managing Partner
Mr. Kehler is a Managing Partner and co-founder of Trimaran Capital Partners. In addition, Mr. Kehler is co-portfolio manager of Trian Credit Partners and a member of the Investment Committees of Trimaran Fund Management, Trimaran Advisors and Trian Credit Partners. Prior to Trimaran Capital Partners, Mr. Kehler was a vice chairman of CIBC World Markets Corp. and co-head of the CIBC Argosy Merchant Banking Funds. Prior to joining CIBC World Markets Corp. in 1995, Mr. Kehler was a founder and Managing Director of The Argosy Group L.P. Mr. Kehler currently serves on the Board of Directors of Inviva, Inc., Charlie Brown's Acquisition Corp., Jefferson National Financial Corp., Urban Brands, Inc., and El PolIo Loco, Inc. Mr. Kehler also serves as Treasurer, Chair of the Finance Committee and a director of CARE USA, one of the world's largest private humanitarian organizations, and is a Vice Chair of the Board of Overseers of the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.
Mr. Kehler received his B.S. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
